Poznavanje, stavovi i korištenje alata otvorene znanosti u biomedicini
izv. prof. dr. sc.
Specifični ciljevi su ispitati (a) poznavanje i stavove znanstvenika o konceptima otvorene znanosti; (b) korištenje alata otvorene znanosti u područjima biomedicine, prirodnih i društvenih znanosti; (c) uporabu društvenih mreža za diseminaciju znanstvenih informacija; (d) analizirati praksu objavljivanja i dijeljenja znanstvenih radova u biomedicinskim, prirodnim i društvenim znanostima.
Metode: U I. godini: a) Kvalitativnim metodama fokus grupe i delfi panela oblikovat će se mjerni instrument - upitnik za ispitivanje prva 3 cilja projekta. Validirani upitnik provest će se među znanstvenicima u ustanovama obuhvaćenim istraživanjem. b) Analiza prakse objavljivanja i dijeljenja znanstvenih radova u kontekstu otvorene znanosti uključit će raščlambu znanstvenih publikacija znanstvenika biomedicinskih, prirodnih i društvenih područja.
Published scientific information directly affects health and quality of life in all areas of science, especially in biomedicine. Publication and research in science are changing and, in the context of open science, facilitate the exchange of scientific information by expanding open access and dissemination tools. Research on knowledge, use and attitudes about open science, especially in biomedicine, according to available literature, are scarce.
The aim of the research is to examine the knowledge, attitudes and tools usage in open science with a special emphasis on biomedicine.
Specific objectives are to examine: (a) scientists' knowledge and attitudes on the concepts of open science; (b) usage of open science tools in fields of biomedicine, natural and social sciences; (c) usage of social networks for the dissemination of scientific information; (d) analyze the practice of publishing and sharing scientific papers in biomedical, natural and social sciences.
Methods: In year I: a) Qualitative methods (focus group and the delphi panel) will be used for the construction of a measuring instrument - questionnaire for testing the first 3 objectives of the project. Validated questionnaire will be conducted among the researchers in the institutions covered by the research. b) An analysis of the practice of publishing and sharing scientific papers in the context of open science will include the dissemination of scientific publications of biomedical, natural and social scientists. In the 2nd year we will translate the questionnaire into English and send to the correspondent authors of biomedical publications (PubMed). In the 3rd year of research, collected results will be analyzed and prepared for the scientific publication.
The project is interdisciplinary, within the smart specialization it can be classified into the field of public health and quality of life, since it investigates and promotes the concept that enables access to scientific information to the general public.
